INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF AGRICULTURAL STUDENTS AND RELATED SCIENCES – UNIVERSITY OF ENERGY AND NATURAL RESOURCES (IAAS-UENR)

“We Feed the World”

IAAS (International Association of Students in Agricultural and Related Sciences), formerly known as the Ghana Association of Students in Agriculture and Related Sciences, is the biggest student organisation in agriculture and related sciences worldwide. IAAS was founded in 1957 but launched in Ghana in 2013. It is made up of over 30 member countries and about 10,000 students as members.  The Association is non-political and non-profit making. IAAS–UENR has been an active member of IAAS Ghana with good standing since 2018.

MISSION

The mission of the Association is to promote the exchange of experience, knowledge and ideas, to improve the mutual understanding between students in the field of agricultural and related sciences.

 

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

The Association aims to promote the scientific and mutual interests of students in agricultural and related sciences.

This is pursued through the following objectives:

  1. Encouraging the exchange of ideas in all fields of education and practice in agricultural and related sciences.
  2. Promoting cooperation and understanding between students of agricultural and related sciences from all over the world.
  3. Preparing students to fulfil the challenges of their future work with a practical and global view.
  4. Promoting sustainable agriculture, economics and food production in the whole world.
  5. Promoting a higher education system of high quality, accessible for everyone.

MEMBERSHIP OF THE ASSOCIATION

Membership to IAAS - UENR is opened to all students studying agriculture and related programs in the School of Agriculture and Technology (SOAT), Dormah Campus.

The current membership of IAAS-UENR is made up of students offering BSc Agriculture (Crop Science and Animal Science options), BSc. Agribusiness, and Diploma in Agriculture.
