AGRIBUSINESS STUDENTS’ ASSOCIATION OF GHANA-UNIVERSITY OF ENERGY AND NATURAL RESOURCES (ABSAG-UENR)

‘Think Agric; Think Business’.

ABSAG-UENR is a non-profit association of agribusiness professionals in academia dedicated to promoting socio-intellectual progress and improving the quality of education to promote personal and national development with Dr. Richard Kwesi Bannor, who happens to be the pioneer of Agribusiness in UENR as the patron of the association.

MISSION

  • For the gathering of opinions of Agribusiness Professionals on matters of national and international concern.
  • For the discussion of issues affecting agribusiness students and other related programs in Ghana.
  • To enable Agribusiness students gain enough entrepreneurial skills to establish and manage their own business which will help reduce unemployment in Ghana.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

The Association was formed in the 2016-2017 academic year as a branch of the ABSAG national to;

  • Represent agribusiness students at the ABSAG national level.
  • Serve as the official mouthpiece for students in agribusiness.
  • Protect and safe guard the rights and interests of agribusiness students, and students of related courses in UENR.
  • Create opportunities for students to obtain practical training and embarking on research activities through the industrial attachment for national development.
  • Help promote Agribusiness to the second cycle institutions and the world.
  • Fight for slots in agribusiness exchange programmes of the general ABSAG
  • Integrating and promoting gender equity and equality in Agribusiness for all national development.

MEMBERSHIP OF THE ASSOCIATION

  1. Membership to ABSAG is opened to all Agribusiness students.
  2. Any member of related programs who is willing can be a member.
  3. Any member who completes his or her program of study automatically becomes a member of the ABSAG-SENATE.
