The UENSA was established in 2018 under the Department of Basic and Applied Biology which houses 3 programs namely BSc. Nursing, Biological Sciences and Medical Laboratory Sciences. The first batch of Nursing students enrolled in the 2018/2019 academic year were 71 in number.
To treat patients with integrity and passion by coming out with high quality of care and educating our society on how to live a healthy lifestyle and maintaining their wellbeing.
To seek the welfare of nursing students, equip them with the optimum skills to help provide adequate solutions to health-related problems worldwide and facilitate the upbringing of nursing students in UENR.
Aside putting up the association into form the department has made strides in hosting and winning the Northern Sector of National Quiz organized by Ministry of Health for Nursing and Midwifery Schools. This feat was chalked on the 25th April 2021 at UENR. It also became first runner up for the grand finale which took place at GRNMA.
